Abstract

The article proves that type-two diabetes mellitus significantly increases myocardial infarction mortality. An acute heart failure ranks first among clinical death causes of patients with myocardial infarction. The authors have identified specific clinical history of myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Most patients with fatal MI, both suffering from DM and not, have hyperglycemia of different intensity levels. The findings give a particularly negative prognosis for MI in women suffering from DM.

Key words

fatal myocardial infarction, diabetes mellitus.
